This program is designed to provide mental health services
to children and adolescents birth through 21 years of
age. Its purpose is to prevent psychiatric hospitalization
or out of home placement for the child who is at risk
and in need of an intensive level of service. The primary
goal of Family Based services is to enable parents to
care for their children at home. The program seeks to
strengthen the family unit, improve coping skills, teach
family members to care for the child and serve as an advocate.
Family Based is a voluntary service to the family and
requires the agreement of the parent or guardian.
Services are delivered in the home by a team of trained mental health professionals who work in partnership with the parents of the child.
The team will work with all family members and other service providers to identify needs and to establish recovery goals.
