This program provides opportunities for persons with mental disorders to develop the necessary skills to promote and maintain integration into the community.
Psychiatric Rehabilitation consists of daily groups and activities where clients interact with peers and staff. They learn to live independently to become aware of the natural supports and community resources. Through regular structured involvement, individuals can increase their work, social, and symptom management skills better enabling them to maintain community tenure. Using a variety of activities both on and off site, participants move forward with their life. Employment, volunteer work, and independent living are commonly cited goals among the clients.
Life enrichment and social opportunities are important aspects of the program. Psychiatric Rehabilitation strives to provide a supportive environment in which persons can learn and grow.
Recreational and socialization opportunities are available during evenings and weekends. Consumers come together in a safe haven at the consumer operated drop-in center, "Our Friends Place."
