WCCD Mission Statement:

The Mission….for West Central Center for the Deaf is to accommodate the changing interests and developing needs of Persons who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, their family and community by providing comprehensive quality services and supports within a flexible, strength-focused philosophy.

Services

West Central Center for the Deaf (WCCD) is a specialized provider of Mental Health services to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community, Resource Center for professionals, the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community and the general public in Pennsylvania’s Western Region.
 
WCCD provides Mental Health services to Deaf/Hard of Hearing individuals through Community Counseling Center’s (CCC’s) outpatient and WCCD’s Behavioral Health Rehabilitation Services (BHRS) programs. The services provided are BHRS Mobile Therapy, Mobile Outpatient Therapy, Outpatient Therapy, and psychiatric services. 
  • BHRS Mobile Therapy: Counseling service done in the home or community for children ages 1 to 21. Counseling service involves family. Service provided by a signing therapist.
  • Outpatient Counseling services: Individual and Family Counseling for Deaf & Hard of Hearing adults. Service provided by a signing therapist. This service primarily provided to persons in Mercer, Lawrence and Crawford Counties.
  • Mobile Outpatient Counseling: Individual and Family Counseling for Deaf & Hard of Hearing adults in the home and community environment. Service provided by a signing therapist. 
  • Psychiatric Services: Psychiatric Assessments and Medicine check-ups provided to Deaf & Hard of Hearing individuals with psychiatric needs. Service provided by a signing psychiatrist.
The regional Resource Center provides individuals with information, support, assistance, outreach, and/or advocacy. These services are provided to insure that persons with hearing loss receive quality services.
