Meet the Senior Team

Dr. john mahinis
Ph.D, MBA
Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Mahinis has his Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology, Master’s Degree in Education, Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology, and his MBA. He has over 20 years of experience in financial management as well as providing and overseeing counseling services for various agencies. John is focused on projects involving rapid turnaround times and time critical decisions are within his comfort zone. He is a team builder, strategist, planner, and organizer. He describes his important character traits as loyalty/trust/devotion/ commitment/candor. They are the bedrock principles upon which his strength as a leader exist. His enthusiasm, dedication, drive, creativity, stability, and collaborative nature, make him a dynamic communicator, with strong emotional intelligence. He has directed organizations in several traditional, higher level corporate, senior executive roles within a variety of different industries nationally and internationally. He is bi-lingual, observant, quick, accurate, friendly, conscientious, and educated but not elitist. He is capable of managing the plethora of personalities, cultures, and nationalities from his international business dealings.
John is a United States Veteran having served as an officer in the Military Intelligence branch of the United States Army, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel.

Constance Walker

Chief Financial and Operations Officer
Constance J. Walker, BA has been the Chief Financial and Operations Officer at Community Counseling Center since 1989. She is a Thiel College graduate with a double Major in Accounting and Business Administration and a minor in Economics. Her responsibilities at Community Counseling Center include Human Resources, Clerical Support Services, Building Management, and all Financial Operations and support.

Jerry Brewster
MSEd
Chief Administrative Officer and Director of Community Services
Jerry began his career with Community Counseling Center as a Mobile therapist, moved to BHRS Team Leader and then Quality Assurance & Compliance Director. For over the past decade, Jerry has provided guidance to Quality, Compliance, IT and Organizational Development as a Director. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Psychology at Kent State University and a Master’s of Science in Education (Community Counseling) at Youngstown State University. Jerry’s current duties include community services, while continuing to oversee Quality, Compliance and IT. Jerry has been employed at Community Counseling Center since 2002.

Kathryn McBride
B.s.
Chief Human Resources Officer
Kathy graduated from Kent State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration. Prior to COMMUNITY COUNSELING CENTER, she began her career in retail management working in both department and specialty stores, where she was promoted to a regional position where she focused on guest services and then transitioned to Human Resources. Kathy has worked in Human Resources for over 20 years. In addition, Kathy is certified by HR Certification Institute (HRCI) as Certified Professional in Strategic Human Resources (SPHR) and by the Society for Human Resources (SHRM) as a Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP).


Jose W. Santiago
M.D.
Medical Director
Jose W. Santiago, MD is the Medical Director of the Community Counseling Center. He is a 1986 graduate of the University of Puerto Rico, San Juan School of Medicine. He completed his residency in the Department of Psychiatry at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia. He is a member of the Psychiatric Physicians of Pennsylvania, the American Academy of Clinical Psychiatry, the American Psychiatric Association, and the American Medical Association. He is certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners. Dr. Santiago has provided psychiatric services at the Community Counseling Center since 1998.

Scott Baker
PhD, LPC
Director of Clinical Service
Scott Baker, PhD, LPC has a Masters degree in Community Counseling from Youngstown State University, a Doctoral degree in Counselor Education and Supervision from Kent State University, and a Post-Doctoral Certificate in Addictions Counseling from Kent State University. He has been a licensed counselor in three states, and he has provided a wide range of counseling services. His work experience includes crisis and disaster response, addictions counseling, mental health counseling with children and adults, custody evaluation, psychological evaluation, reunification counseling, co-parenting counseling, parenting coordination, and counselor education and supervision.
